Our Vessel Na'walak

Na’walak is a kwakwak’wakw word that means “spirit of nature”. She is a comfortable 55-foot pilothouse ketch, comprehensively upgraded using the latest systems with comfort and safety in mind. She is very stable and stoutly overbuilt of fiberglass and made to offshore standards. The interior incorporates five private staterooms with berthing for six passengers and three crew. The forward stateroom is a V-berth with two single berths, which can be converted into a double. The starboard aft stateroom has a double berth, and the port aft stateroom is a single berth. There are also two mid-ship cabins each with two single bunk berths, one of which is our crew quarters. There are two heads, each with walk-in showers. The galley holds a large refrigerator/freezer, and large 4 burner stove and oven. We also have a large BBQ grill permanently secured to the aft rail for grilling. The entire boat is insulated and fitted with radiant and forced air heat for the occasional chilly morning. JUST AFT OF THE GALLEY is the bright and roomy pilothouse/salon with comfortable seating for eight. Whether gathering for a sumptuous meal, taking a turn at the helm, or ducking in from a rain shower, the pilothouse is a great place to stay out of the weather while enjoying the wraparound view. This special feature enables us to voyage comfortably in the beautifully serene off-season while staying warm and dry. When you prefer to be on the deck you will find several cozy places to relax. You can find your spot in the sun on the foredeck or sit comfortably in our spacious cockpit, or lounge on the aft deck. IN KEEPING WITH Emerald Isle’s philosophy of treading as lightly as possible in these delicate environments, we have forgone a noisy diesel generator, and installed a high-capacity battery bank and solar charging system, supplying the ship with ample power for your convenience. Our dinghy is propelled by a silent electric motor. WE’RE EQUIPPED with a great sailing system. Roller furling and self-tailing winches make the Na’walak easy to sail. If you want to take a turn at the helm, we have a wheel in the cockpit as well as in the pilot house. TO HELP YOU REST EASILY we want you to know that we care about your safety. We meet or exceed all U.S. Coast Guard safety requirements. In case we need emergency communications, we have a fixed mount VHF radio, portable VHF radios, an EPIRB, and satellite communications.

THE VESSEL

USCG Captain Greg Sellentin

“My goal is to share with every guest my experience, passion, and gratitude for living and sailing in one of the most important and beautiful marine environments in the world.” Growing up surrounded by water, Greg spent most of his life in, on, and around the sea. Windsurfers and Hobie catamarans were his watercraft of choice way back then. After a short career in advertising photography in New York, he ditched the city life. Relatively unscathed and none the worse for urban wear and tear, he moved to Alaska and re-connected with nature, wilderness and a life of adventure. He spent his years as a publisher for a print and online adventure publication and sled dog tour guide, as well as expeditioning/winter camping in the interior. Feeling the magnetic pull back to the water, he eventually led sea kayaking, rafting, sailing, photography and bear viewing tours in Southeast Alaska, Prince William Sound, and Kachemak Bay. Wanting to spend more time on water unfrozen, he migrated south to the San Juan Islands and has spent the last 15 years solo sailing and exploring the flora and fauna of the San Juan Islands, the Great Bear Rainforest, and Haida Gwaii islands. Greg currently holds a USCG OUPV Captain’s license, as well as being trained in wilderness first aid, swift water rescue, and BCU kayak training.

Our 3-day tours offer you a longer chance to experience some of the most scenic and intriguing places along the NW Coast.

The unique beauty and sunny weather of Washington’s San Juan Islands have been famous for generations. Nestled in the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains, the nearly 200 unique islands get about half the rainfall of Seattle. The alluring charm of this archipelago is expressed both in its natural landscapes, and its diverse wildlife – above and below the water. Grass and moss carpeted hillsides give way to graceful madronas and sculpted firs. Wildflowers fill the meadows in spring and early summer. The occasional sand or gravel beach is punctuated by whimsically shaped sandstone, beckoning the kids to explore. Rich emerald waters yield fish for the grill, crab and prawns for a shore-side feast. Three groups of orca whales call the islands home during the year, chasing the salmon that migrate through. Eagles perch in shore-side trees, and a variety of seabirds cruise the bays and channels, diving for fish. Protected park land abounds with several islands devoted entirely to the marine explorer. A large variety of trails provide great opportunities for discovery. A sunny overlook, a hidden cove, a quaint one-room school house, or an abandoned lighthouse are among the myriad treasures to be found. Local artist’s galleries, restaurants, and elegant resorts with spas lend variety on the bigger islands.

FAQs

What kinds of wildlife might I see?

The coastlines we sail are rich with life. Depending on the time of year, sea mammals you might see include Orca, Humpback and Minke Whales, Harbor Porpoise, Dahl’s Porpoise, White-sided Dolphins, Sea Otters, River Otters, Harbor Seals, and Sea Lions. On land you have the opportunity to see Minks, Otters, Black-tailed Deer, Raccoons, and imported exotic wildlife. As we journey northward it becomes increasingly likely to find coastal Wolves, Mountain Goats, Black Bears, Grizzlies, and the White Kermode, or “Spirit” Bear. There are too many feathered friends to list. The Bald Eagle is a daily visitor. Other favorites of ours include Oyster Catchers, Marbled Murrelettes, Scoters, and Great Blue Herons. For a truly world class natural experience the old-growth forests of northern B.C.’s Great Bear Rainforest house an especially rich and diverse community of creatures. Our unobtrusive electric powered dingy allows us the unique advantage of near silence while viewing and photographing wildlife.

What sort of clothes should I bring?

It’s best to be prepared for a temperature range of 55° to 80° F. When sailing, even on a warm summer day, the breeze experienced on deck when heading up wind can elicit the need for cozier clothing. The best dress for sailing is layers. For northern tours, close to the skin, wear a moisture wicking layer, then an insulative layer (fleece, wool...), and an outer wind/water resistant layer. Waterproof shoes or rubber boots are an advantage on deck and for getting to and exploring shorelines and estuaries. Shorts and a bathing suit are great for a summer swim or hot spring soak. For life below decks bring casual and comfortable clothing. Don’t forget your favorite pair of slippers! We’ll send you a detailed list of what to bring when you submit your reservation.

What is the weather like?

The San Juan and Gulf Islands are known for their sunny summer days. We receive about half the rain of Seattle due to the rainshadow of the Olympics and Vancouver Island mountain ranges. Temperatures range from 55°-80° F in the spring, summer, and fall, and average 40°-50° F in the winter months. The Great Bear Rainforest of northern B.C. produces more variable weather. It’s not called a rain forest for nothing! Temperatures are usually in the 60s throughout our sailing season there. You will likely encounter a mix of sunshine with occasional rain during your trip, but you will stay warm and dry in our roomy pilothouse.

What time of year should I sail with you?

It depends on what you are looking for. April and May display an incredible abundance of spring flowers. Some areas are particularly spectacular with color at this time. The sunniest and warmest months of the year are July, August, and September. This is the best time of year to see the Great Bear Rainforest. October through mid-June offers the best sailing wind and the quietest privacy in anchorages. We have had incredible trips in January! With our heating systems and all-weather pilothouse this time of year can be a magically peaceful and comfortable experience.

What if I get seasick?

Nearly all of the waters we sail in are well protected. Most people who are concerned about seasickness are pleasantly surprised that its not an issue for them on our trips. However, some of our trips involve making brief passages that can occasionally get rough enough to elicit this unfortunate gastronomic state. We recommend you speak with your doctor or pharmacist regarding appropriate motion sickness medication. In our experience for mild queasiness, the acupressure wrist bands, ginger tea or crystallized ginger (which we have on board), and staying above decks can be of great help. The good news is that after we’ve finished a rough passage, the seasickness disappears!

Are children welcome on your charters?

Absolutely! We love having children on board. It can be a hugely educational experience for them. There are many activities to keep them occupied, and enough new and exciting experiences to keep them talking about their trip for a long time. We do, however, prefer that if your child is younger than 10 that the guest list is filled by your party alone.

What is a “crewed” charter?

It’s a cruise that includes a captain and crew/chef who take care of all shipboard duties including safe navigation, local knowledge of choice attractions, and meals and cleaning. You can do as much or as little as you like. We are at your service!

Do I need to be in good shape?

No. The level of activity varies depending on the trip. However, anyone who can get in and out of the dingy and go for short walks will do fine. We have had mobility-impaired guests having wonderful cruises with us without ever leaving the boat! There are many beautiful things to see right from the cabin and deck!

What do your trips include?

All onboard meals, including select wines with most dinners. On some trips you will cover one dinner ashore. Your heated cabin includes a bed made with sheets, pillows, comforters, and blankets. Towels, cloths, shampoo, and soap are also complementary. You are welcome to use the inflatable, kayak, and all fishing, crabbing, and shrimping gear. If you prefer to overnight at a place with moorage fees, you are responsible for them, as well as any fishing licenses, and most off boat tours.

How often do we get off the boat?

On multi-day trips we try to have at least one shoreside exploration per day. In the Great Bear Rainforest we typically take the dinghy up a pristine river and go for a short walk, or explore a remote beach, or abandoned native village. In the San Juans and Gulf Islands many forest trails, beaches, and country roads await the happy wanderer.

What can I expect to learn?

Opportunities for education abound. Your skipper is a trained naturalist, and enjoys pointing out a special plant, and its traditional uses, or identifying an animal and explaining its habits. Local history and native culture are other subjects you'll learn about. The captain also enjoys teaching sailing to anyone interested. Our trips in the Great Bear and the Inside Passage incorporate Native guides who will lead you through abandoned village sites, and enthrall with tales of battles, ancient customs, and the history of the once mighty Kwakwak’wakw. Or take part in a traditional open fire salmon bake and learn of the rich past of the Heiltsuk. The boat makes a great platform for seminars and workshops. We also offer instructor-led cruises in subjects such as meditation, photography, and whale observation. Please see charter options. If you are an instructor interested in leading an art cruise feel free to contact us.

What areas do you charter in?

Our scheduled tours focus in the San Juans April through July, with one trip up the Inside Passage/Southern Great Bear Rainforest in early August, mid August to mid September in the Northern Great Bear Rainforest of the northern B.C. coast, and one trip down the Inside Passage/Southern Great Bear Rainforest in mid September. Please see our schedule. Any time you don’t see a scheduled trip booked the boat is open and available, so don’t hesitate to inquire.

What if I'm a solo traveler who prefers my own stateroom?

All of our rooms are double occupancy (View ship schematic), and allow for a maximum of six guests. If you prefer a private stateroom we will try to accommodate you. There will be an additional 50% fee if the tour is otherwise full.

Can you take more than six passengers?

By Coast Guard regulation, we can take up to six guests. On our instructional cruises, and with workshops and seminars, we can bring an instructor in addition to the six guests.

Do I need to know how to sail?

No. The captain and crew are perfectly capable of taking care of all sailing. However, you are welcome to participate at any time for your own enjoyment. The captain is a lifetime sailor, and would love to help you with your sailing skills. By the end of the trip you may just be ready for the America’s Cup!

Our 5 & 6 day tours offer you a longer chance to experience some of the most scenic and intriguing places along the NW Coast.

With a two hour sail to the north, the Canadian Gulf Islands take up where the San Juans leave off. Similarly beautiful in topography and weather, they provide a quieter, even more relaxed experience. Myriad peaceful coves, madrona-clad sandstone bluffs, and mossy woodland trails invite adventurers. As in the San Juans, many sandy beaches lay thickly fringed with white shells; the telltale evidence of ancient village sites of the seafood eating Coast Salish people. Relax with us in a protected anchorage while one of the famous sunsets caps another memorable day.

We are working on permits and insurance for this trip. It is possible we will be offering this tour in late August/early September 2027. Please use the contact form on this page to let us know you have interest, or have any questions. Prices are yet to be determined, but will probably be around $7200 per person all inclusive of food and beverages. Sail with us to where civilization gradually fades astern. Northwest is where we're headed, underneath a golden sky as we begin to get a taste of the wilder side of the North American coast. Natural Hot Springs, 10,000 yr old protected First Nation villages, ancient totem poles, pods of leaping dolphins, Orcas, Humpbacks, Bears, Rain Wolves. These are just some of the highlights on our farthest north tour. This is a true adventure, but with all the creature comforts and safety we've developed from over 20 years of experience with this route. We pass north through the Inside Passage roughly retracing the route that Captain George Vancouver did in 1792. Much of the area looks the same now as it did then. With each day aboard, you'll feel a deeper connection to the natural world as you let the stresses of everyday land based life melt away. Sailing aboard the S/V Nawalak is about escaping the crowds, relaxing, and connecting with nature and the sea while exploring the quiet beaches and pristine islands of the northwest. During our tours we share with you the gems and secrets we’ve discovered in our 30+ years of sailing these amazing waterways.

Sales Pitch

Desolation Sound, Broughton Archipelago, The Great Bear Rainforest, The Inside Passage - a primeval wilderness whose magical voice speaks directly to your soul.

Endowed with a vast, intricate web of islands, bays, and waterways, one could spend a lifetime exploring here. Entering into the temperate rainforest realm of moss draped ancient cedars, whales, salmon-filled rivers, towering granite cliffs, grizzly, black and spirit bears abound. Waterfalls cascade from impossible heights, fjords stretch deep into the coastal mountains bordered by massive granite cliffs, this is the last of a quickly disappearing global treasure. These tours focus on the portion from the San Juans through the Gulf Islands, and into the Great Bear Rainforest, or the reverse.

Feel yourself easing into a simpler, richer life, as you sail deep into the homeland of a culture that lived in balance with nature for thousands of years. The vibrant, healing beauty of this little-known treasure speaks directly to your soul. We bring you to the beautiful, less-traveled areas of the Great Bear Rainforest-Inside Passage-away from the crowds, and the other charter companies!

As we head north from the San Juans we begin to enter the enchanted land of the Gulf Islands, with elegantly sculpted sandstone shorelines and white shell beaches. Heading further north we soon behold the majesty of Desolation Sound – thought by many to be the premier yachting destination in the Northwest for its scenic fjords, mountains, warm water, and serene lakes. From there we enter the intricate Broughton Archipelago-visiting ancient abandoned First Nations villiage sites with totem poles lying on the forest floor, and thousands of years of layered shell midden clearly visible. Then we truly enter the ancient, primal wilderness of the Great Bear Rainforest-the last large stand of coastal temperate rainforest left on the planet. With towering granite peaks, spectacular fiords, lush, untouched cedar forests, and myriads of wildlife, this is a rare nature experience that will indelibly transform you!

What do people say about Emerald Isle Sailing Charters?

We have always wanted to go sailing in the San Juans because we have heard it is one of the most technically challenging places in the United States to sail. It has been on our bucket list for a long time. As novice sailors we knew it was beyond our ability so we decided to charter Captain Greg and his Ketch the Na’walak for a 4 day sailing adventure. This trip far exceeded our expectations. On the first day we had 26 knot winds with 37 knot gusts. Captain Greg calls those conditions “spicy”. If we had been sailing we would have been on the rocks 5 minutes after leaving the dock. Captain Greg and First Mate/Chef Rowie definitely had their hands full but successfully sailed us out into the sound. Then it was game on for some spectacular sailing. We were hugely impressed with their skill and the boat. It was everything we hoped for and more. After seeing Rowie’s skills as a sailor we thought he was probably a sailor first and chef second. Boy were we wrong. Turns out he’s a highly trained chef who has worked in Michelin Starred restaurants that happens to live on his own sailboat. As good as Rowie is at sailing he’s a Chef first and foremost. The galley on Na’walak is very well equipped. The food was beyond excellent. Especially when we stopped at the oyster farm and Chef Rowie prepared oysters and clams for lunch that were harvested that morning. The best oysters we have ever tasted. Since we came for the sailing we didn’t really investigate the hiking opportunities. Fortunately we brought good hiking boots on board because we were able to hike a lot. We would typically sail for a few hours then find an anchorage at one of the beautiful San Juan islands. Once we were at anchor we would explore the island for a couple of hours while Rowie prepared our delicious evening meal and Captain Greg did maintenance on the boat. When we were finished we would call Greg on the marine walkie talkie and he would come pick us up in the inflatable tender. We love the electric motor because it is really quiet gliding through the bays. We saw quite a bit of wildlife but sadly no Orcas on this trip. Maybe next time. Four days were not enough. Next time we plan to book six days or a 12-14 day trip up the coast. It is a lot of money but when you consider the skills and experience of the crew, perfect condition of the boat and of course the quality of the food we think it is a great deal.

Last week we had the great fortune to celebrate a milestone anniversary with a 4-day sailing trip in the San Juan Islands with Captain Greg & First Mate/Chef Roeh. We stayed off Sucia, Matia, & Cypress Islands… & had the best weather (sunshine & still waters!). Each day & night were so memorable — from the gourmet meals that adhered to our dietary requests/ requirements, to the hiking/ kayaking/ hanging out in utter peace every day. Captain Greg & First Mate Chef Roeh have got it DOWN with respect to providing a professional, congenial, delicious, relaxing, & fun experience. We feel so fortunate to have sailed with these guys & would absolutely recommend them to you as well! Thank you Greg & Roeh 💝

Captain Greg and Chef Romello made our four-day tour of the San Juans into the perfect family vacation! They made the handsome 55-foot ketch Náwalak into a home with their warm hospitality, professional management of the boat, and stellar cuisine. This trip was in June 2024.Captain Greg invited our participation in planning the itinerary as we navigated winds and currents to connect a constellation of scenic destinations, hikes, paddling opportunities, and fresh seafood. In only four days we sailed and motored between Orcas, Sucia, Patos, Stuart, and San Juan Islands. Each night we anchored or tied to a mooring ball in time for dinner, and thanks to the midsummer light, we even had the chance to take the kayaks out one night after dinner! Mornings typically included a trip to shore with a hike suggested specifically in response to our interests and capacity. I was thoroughly impressed with Greg’s creativity and flexibility in adapting plans to our desires and the changing circumstances. His unflappably calm leadership gave us space to be ourselves, relax, and spend time connecting with each other.Chef Romello upgraded the trip from an adventure to a luxury cruise. He presented us with a series of culinary masterpieces that made us consistently look forward to mealtime. He also showed admirable responsiveness to our group’s tastes, even when they conflicted with each other! What’s more, his charismatic descriptions of his planning and cooking process involved us in the playful drama of making these fine meals. Romello’s enthusiasm, curiosity, deep understanding of the chemistry of cooking, and broad experience at fine restaurants shone through as he affectionately described how each meal came to be. These stories added a surprising and delightful dimension to the cruise, sharing his joy and improvisation with us. He even incorporated the banana bread we brought along into a gourmet custard parfait! For all these incredible contributions, and for their consistently gracious and professional presence onboard, we feel incredibly lucky to have spent these few short days with Chef Romello and Captain Greg.

My family was extremely grateful to have been the grand prize winner for this stunning four day three night sailing trip with Captain Greg and his personal chef Roeh! We left out of Deer Harbor and sailed to three different islands where we took a small boat over and hiked the islands. It was like being in a rainforest. Captain Greg accompanied us on our hikes and his knowledge of the area and the seas was spectacular. We were so pleasantly surprised that the food was beyond compare. I have never had such fresh tasty food as Roeh prepared. We loved the enthusiasm with which he prepared each meal and the detailed description he gave to us as he presented each meal in detail with all the ingredients and flavors. Our trip was sponsored by Wild Planet foods, which has delicious tuna, salmon, sardines, and other seafood. Roeh incorporated these foods into our meals. I am definitely a fan. This was truly a unique experience. I would say, though, this trip is not suitable for young children, but young couples who love to hike and do outdoor activities or older couples who just want to enjoy the serenity of the waters and the beauty of the islands, it is a great experience.

We had a wonderful 4-day trip in the San Juans with Captain Greg and Chef/First Mate Roeh last week. We enjoyed hiking on Sucia, Matia, and Cypress Islands; kayaking around Matia on a perfectly calm evening; exploring tidal pools and seeing Stellar sea lions, oyster catchers, harbor seals, pelagic cormorants, and so much more. Both Greg and Roeh are true masters of their crafts and knowledgeable about so many other topics; they were such a pleasure to spend time with. We highly recommend them for your next sailing adventure!

We had an unforgettable experience with Emerald Isle Sailing Charters. From start to finish, everything was exceptional. Captain Greg was not only professional and safety-minded, but also incredibly knowledgeable about sailing and the surrounding waters. His calm confidence and easygoing personality made us feel comfortable right away, and he shared fascinating insights that added so much to the journey. Chef Roeh elevated the entire trip with absolutely fantastic meals. Each dish was fresh, creative, and full of flavor—far beyond what you’d ever expect at sea. Dining aboard felt like a five-star experience in the most beautiful setting imaginable. The combination of Captain Greg’s expertise and Chef Roeh’s culinary talent made this charter truly special. If you’re looking for a first-class sailing adventure that blends relaxation, learning, and gourmet dining, Emerald Isle Sailing Charters is second to none. Highly recommended!

We took a sailing trip with Captain Greg and chef/first mate Roeh July 11-13 and had a wonderful time. The boat was lovely and we got to learn about sailing while enjoying fabulous meals and exploring the islands with our knowledgeable captain. We saw a pod of Orcas, otters, seals, eagles, and osprey. It was a great experience and we would definitely sail with Emerald Isle again!

Truly this was a lifetime memory making trip. We did the 6 hour day sail for my husbands 60 th birthday and wished we were starting a 6 day trip! Greg and Ruille were amazing hosts, warm and inviting and great conversationalists and we could not have asked for a more wonderful time on the water. The San Juan’s are so beautiful and the food was excellent. Do not hesitate to book this journey. It is unforgettable.

Captian Greg suggested that we should take a Seaplane to meet up with the boat. What a great idea and adventure. Captain met us on the dock and plane, very warm reception. Making our way to the sailboat Chef Roeh was standing on the deck waving. The boat was beautiful, clean and well maintained. It also was a Stand out in every bay and channels. A beautiful Emerald Green not just another white boat. Once aboard we got tours of the boat above and below deck. Very spacious and comfortable. The accommodations were very unexpected the suites restrooms ect. Both Captain and the Chef had great knowledge of the area’s history and highlights. Each day started with a fabulous breakfast (from an 5 star C. I. A. Hyde Park trained Chef), and suggestions for the day from sailing to kayaking and hiking the different islands. Plan on enjoying the kayaking hikes and exploring. Don’t forget your camera as the area is breathtaking. Captain Greg and Chef made Safety #1 priority. One of the best vacations I’ve ever been on, can’t wait to return. If planning on visiting the San Juan Islands you have to book an Emerald Island Charter. Thank again. Joseph Amireault.

The Emerald Isle Sailing Charter with Captain Greg and his boat was a great experience for our group. We signed up for the 3 day sail and were treated to exciting sailing, beautiful views, animal sightings, kayaking, hiking and amazing food! Captain Greg and Chef Roeh are both very knowledgeable and enjoyable to converse with. Chef Roeh provided 5 star restaurant quality food for every meal from a sailboat galley which far exceeded every expectation. Captain provided a preference sheet in advance allowing us to share likes and dislikes for food and drinks and they provided us with all we asked and more, accommodating varying requirements for each person. This was a very enjoyable sailing experience in the San Juan islands that is highly recommended!

Our 6 day charter with Emerald Isle Sailing Charters was a first for us. We are sailors, and we have done a bareboat charter in the Abacos, but we were glad to have a very experienced captain in the San Juan Island waters. They are treacherous. In addition, to having a lot of experience in the currents and eddies between the islands, both Captain Greg and First Mate Roeh have lots of local knowledge to share and directed us to hiking trails, light houses, shops, and historical sights. Roeh is also a professional chef and prepares fantastic breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner. Be prepared to be impressed. Although he will meet any dietary needs, this is no time for dieting! I highly recommend Emerald Isle Sailing Charters for those wish to experience sailing in the San Juan Islands before trying it out yourself, and for those who have never been sailing. It is the trip of a lifetime!

Captain Greg's skill and experience shared on this trip far exceeded my families expectation. We were treated to natural history and local lore, hiking and photography. The meals were wonderful. The chef Roeh created meals from fresh and local sources. Roeh's gentle kindness with an illness onboard(which quickly resolved) was skilled and professional. We had traveled from the east coast and the Midwest to take the 5 day trip. No one in the family had been to the area. It is beautiful and unique. This trip is worth every dollar. I sincerely recommend this experience. Thank you for a great family experience. ArtN

We went on the 3 day sailing tour as an early birthday celebration for my partner. We brought my 8 year old stepson as well. We have been planning and looking forward to this trip for about 6 months and it exceeded all of our hopes and expectations! Captain Greg was an amazing guide and happily explained the basics of sailing to us while we cruised around the islands. He gave us great recommendations for hiking on shore and was very accommodating to let us explore whatever our hearts desired. Chef Rowie cooked us more food than I have eaten in a long time and it was all spectacular. We live in Colorado- so seafood is a luxury and he made sure to give us some great seafood based meals! And he was always willing to make sure we had a cold drink our hands! The crew was also great with our kiddo and made sure he had a great time as well! Overall I couldn’t have asked for a better trip. Scenery- animal sightings- and some fun sailing, I would highly recommend this trip to anyone!

This was an amazing experience! My husband and I booked passage on a 3 day trip with Captain Greg and Chef/First Mate Romelo for our anniversary. We have been trying to explore more of our own state, and this was the best way to experience the San Juan Islands. I only wish we could have been on the boat longer! Captain Greg was very knowledgeable about the Islands and was more than happy to teach us about the boat and sailing. Romelo is an amazing chef! We requested Oysters and they delivered! If you are wanting an intimate and unique experience, you must sail with Emerald Isle Sailing! 10*

If you haven't yet sailed aboard the vessel Nawalak with Captain Greg Sellentin and crew, you might want to drop what you are doing and book your voyage now. It's hard to rank what's best; the boat, the crew or the San Juan Islands and vicinity. For some, this may be the cruise of a lifetime.

Had a fabulous 6-day trip sailing around the San Juan Islands. Captain Greg was very knowledgeable about the islands, hiking trails, bays to anchor in, local history and nature—and of course sailing. He tailored the trip to what we wanted: hiking, more time on the water, etc. Chef Romelo was outstanding. Created great dishes using local seafood and produce. The trip was so relaxing—I highly recommend it.

Our 6 day sailing charter exceeded all expectations. From Captain Greg and all the knowledge of the San Juans that he shared to Chef Romello and his fabulous meals, it was a special event. Of course the biggest star of all, besides the ship, was the day in and day out of the San Juan Islands. Truly memorable!

I Just completed an Emerald Isle Sailing Charter with Greg Sellentin aboard his 55 foot Pilot House Ketch in the San Juan Islands North of Seattle. This has been on the top of my bucket list for years. I am a seasoned sailor and owner of a 48 foot sloop so my expectations were High. Greg, his Yacht and his First/Mate/Gourmet Cook-Romello were in a word--Fantastic -and truly exceeding my expectations. The Yacht has 8 berths (with 5 staterooms) and their were 4 Guests-2 ladies(in the V-Berth) and 2 guys(one in the double bunk berth) and the other(Me) in the Aft Quarter berth. , It was a great mix of folks and we all became friends very quickly...AND everyone got along famously. The itinerary chosen for exploring part of the San Juan Islands( there are over 100), north of Seattle , was excellent. We had windy times allowing for brisk sailing and quiet calm times when we motor sailed--all great. The anchorages were in beautiful quiet coves surrounded by awesome Northwest scenery. The Pilot House configuration of the Yacht permitted full viewing of the spectacular scenery whether you were inside or on deck. Greg chose these excellent beautiful spots to drop anchor and he had both kayaks and paddle boards to play with . The guests , especially the Ladies did a great deal of island exploring, walking over 10,000 steps each day. I have a bad knee but was fully entertained and delighted with the trip even though I spent most of my time aboard. After all-I Am a Sailor. Words can't truly explain how great Greg and Morello were. Meals were awesome(Thanks Romello) and healthy-truly a gourmet Cook and a budding good Sailor. And I cant say enough about Greg and how smoothly he ran the whole operation. If you were not an experience sailor he would teach you, if you were, you could participate (or not) as much as you wanted to. Plus he has a fascinating life history , including running sled dogs in Alaska. I would Highly Highly recommend chartering with Greg and Romello, whether you a Land Lubber or experienced Sailor. It was truly an outstanding experience. Richard G Fisher MD

We had the most lovely time out in the islands with Captain Greg at the helm. The accommodations are great, the boat is beautiful and Chef Romero fed us like royalty. He is creative, humble and above all very kind. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves nature, the sea, outstanding food and friendly interactions. Well done Captain!

What an incredible trip! We did the 2 night San Juan cruise. There were 6 guests, Captain Greg, and his wonderful Chef Romello, who cooked some of the best meals you could ask for! We asked to some great islands, kayaked and paddleboarded when we anchored for the night, and hiked some beautiful trails! The experience was well worth the price! Captain Greg and Romello were such great hosts, and they went above and beyond to provide top-notch service. Plenty of beer, cider, and wine was available and they were very accommodating with special requests for food allergies. I had the two best nights of sleep on that boat and I would recommend them to anyone seeking a truly memorable experience!

Sailing with Captain Greg and Romello was one of the best imaginable ways to kick off summer. We went on a three day (two night) charter and had an amazing trip from start to finish. Captain Greg is incredibly knowledgeable of sailing and the San Juans, there wasn't a moment where he didn't have an answer to our questions and it was fun to hear all his stories from his many years of adventuring. He was flexible with whatever we wanted to do (stay on the boat, go to land, kayak around, etc.) and provided insight into the best places to visit given our short time on the boat. The sailing experience is enough to make it worth it, but we also really lucked out with chef Romello (who happens to be a chef at one of our favorite restaurants on the mainland) - we couldn't believe that he would be cooking for us the entire time, and every single meal and snack was delicious and beautifully crafted. I can't imagine a better crew and would highly recommend this experience!

We went out for an overnight sail to Sucia Island to the north of Orcas Island. We left Deer Harbor of Orcas Island in the early afternoon, and it was great to be sailing with wind power. Captain Greg is knowledgeable about the ocean currents, everything nautical, and about what natural wonders there are to be experienced in the San Juan Islands. Chef Romello entertained and fueled us with amazing food. Both Greg and Romello have a joy about cruising that was fun to be a part of. We explored Sucia Island, which is a state park, with Greg in the evening and from a skiff on the water in the morning. Sucia is a magical place. We talked to Greg about returning with him to Sucia in October to hunt for mushrooms, while the temperatures are still comfortable. We hope to make that happen.

My husband and I went on a day sail with Capt. Greg as a special treat for our 10 yr wedding anniversary. We enjoyed it so much! He was extremely knowledgeable about the area and a gifted sailor. Plus snacks!!! We are looking at booking again for a longer voyage in the near future! Fair winds and following seas were our joy in sailing with Emerald Isle Sailing!

Orcas Island is one of our favorite destinations. Last week we enjoyed a new treat: sailing for 6 hours around the San Juan Archipelago on a chartered 55-foot sailboat with Emerald Island Sailing. The skipper shared his vast knowledge of the area. Many of the small islands have interesting histories, vegetation and wildlife. I cannot think of a better way to experience these wonders than aboard Captain Greg's luxury boat equipped with drinks and food.

Well put together tour of the San JaunIslands. The Capitan is very knowledgeable of islands and provides a lot of education information about them. What I found very comforting was his focus of safe operation of the boat and the safety of those aboard. The boat is well maintain and well equipped. I recommend the charter to anyone looking for a relaxing stress free cruise to enjoy nature and the picturesque San Jaun Islands.

Captain Greg truly exceeded our expectations as both a skilled sailor and a gracious host. Our experience aboard the Na'walak was nothing short of exceptional. Greg's wealth of knowledge was truly impressive, and he eagerly addressed every question we had. His unwavering commitment to ensuring our comfort and enjoyment throughout the journey was remarkable. Moreover, the Na'walak itself is a true gem. The boat exudes elegance and charm, making it the perfect vessel for our adventure. We embarked on the 6-hour tour, and while it was undoubtedly fantastic, it left us yearning for more. Given the opportunity, I would not hesitate to book an extended voyage with Captain Greg in a heartbeat. In fact, I can easily envision spending several more days under his expert guidance, reveling in the beauty of the open sea. Captain Greg has not only won us over with his exceptional skills but has also left us with memories that will be cherished for a lifetime. We eagerly look forward to our next adventure with him.

Amazing experience, in every way possible. I had the pleasure of attending the 6-day tour with my dad as a post-college graduation trip, and I'm not sure there's too many things the crew could have done better. They were friendly, hospitable, and very well versed in the history of the San Juans (including super interesting stories about nearly every island we went to). The food was also some of the best I've had in recent memory, despite it being on a boat; I'm not sure there was a meal that wasn't 5 stars. I have no business/familial relation to the crew or Emerald Isle, but if you're on the fence please consider going. Well worth the money and time.

I booked the 6-hour day sail with Captain Greg for my boyfriend's birthday and it was a fantastic experience. The boat is beautiful and Captain Greg is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and made our experience truly comfortable and special. My boyfriend is interested in learning to sail and he had a great time learning about all of the different aspects of sailing and getting to steer the boat. We also learned a ton about the different islands and history of the area. I would highly recommend Emerald Isle Sailing and I’m hoping to book another trip with them next spring!

Outstanding 5-night sail in the San Juan Islands, July 2023. The captain and crew were A+ terrific, and worked hard to not just meet but exceed each guest’s expectation. Great stories, fabulous scenery. Highly recommend. Tip: It’s a boat! Don’t expect it to be like a hotel. Travel light and casual. Bring a small USB backup battery for a phone or camera recharge; note that they are happy to let you occasionally recharge your battery bank. But leave plugged-in appliances behind.

Our 5 day trip through the San Juan Islands with Captain Greg and Chef Roeh was nothing short of amazing! Greg was a wealth of knowledge on sailing, the islands and the wildlife in and around them. We were spoiled with all the amazing meals prepared by Roeh. The Na'walak was well equipped and very comfortable. The kayaks and paddle boards made exploring the islands while anchored a pleasure. We will most certainly be back; hopefully for longer next time!

I highly recommend Emerald Isle sailing charters. We did a 6 hour day trip for my birthday and it was beautiful. This trip included my 4 year old daughter who had never been on a sail boat before. The boat is incredibly stable and there is a lot of space on deck and below to move around. Captain Greg was knowledgeable about the area and answered all our questions along the way. He took the time to teach a bit about sailing to the people in our group that wanted to participate. The charcuterie platter as well as the beer/wine selection were excellent. The trip was wonderful and Greg was so nice. It made for a memorable experience. Thanks!

Everything you thought you wanted to learn about sailing and so much more 😁 This crew is incredible! I didn't know what to expect but I was sooo pleasantly surprised with the ease of everything. Captain Greg and Chef Roeh really made sure everything was thought of and planned for, even with super picky preteen palates! Thanks guys! Bonus, we had Captain Dave with us as well, who offered a wealth of knowledge and incredible stories. We had a group of 6 plus the 3 person crew which made 9 on the boat, but it was more tolerable than I thought It would be for 6 days in a row 😂

Sailing the San Juan’s was a bucket item list for us—the natural beauty of the islands attracted our nature-lover inner senses. What we did not anticipate was the amazing knowledge of the area from Captain Dave. Listening to him share the history of the islands and his pointing out those areas on our hikes/sails, was something way beyond our expectations. And the food? Wow! Chef Faith blew us away with her presentation and the taste of the food—all healthy!! The six days flew by but we are forever changed by the bonding of this group of five people who shared this time together—our memories will last a lifetime.

I just returned from an exceptional 6-day San Juans excursion with Captain Dave. I signed up for the sailing, hiking, kayaking, and great scenery…and the trip certainly delivered in those areas. But the real magic of this vacation is in Dave’s expansive knowledge (seamanship, the natural world, local history), the wonderful cuisine that our chef Faith thoughtfully prepared, the easygoing and serene coves we stayed in each night, and the great conversations with new friends. You can lose yourself in the scenery, solitude, and sailing…and emerge recharged from a truly unique experience!

His knowledge of the area, history and wildlife were always insightful and not too intrusive to a relaxing day on the water. The boat is in amazing shape and very comfortable. We did 6 hours with 8 people including Dave and his helper. Plenty of space to move around, chill out and enjoy the stellar views. I would use this place again in a heartbeat!

Exceptional experience!!!! Capitán Dave really goes out of his way to make you feel at home and provide a memorable experience. His knowledge, caring, and expertise are awesome. He talked about the different islands, provided specific information about them, explained some of the history and made the tour extremely interesting and enjoyable. We had a wonderful time, relaxed, have fun, laughed, and throughly enjoyed. Along the way we saw Porpoises, a Gigantic jellyfish (Fried Egg Jellyfish), Bold eagles, Seals, Sea lions, Harbor Seals, Cormorants, Pigeon Guillemot, and ORCAS!!!! Yes, Orcas, 4 of them!!! So close, that we felt as we were swimming with them. Dave knew that 2 of them were males and 2 females. It was absolutely wonderful and Awesome. Will definitely do it again, probably even a 6 day family trip 😋🤩👍🏼 Very appreciative of the time we spent together!!!!

My wife and I just got back from an incredible trip in the San Juan Islands with Captain Dave Lutz and Chef Kenzie aboard the boat Nawalak. Dave is a kind, gentle soul and a most capable captain. His knowledge of the San Juan Islands is remarkable. He's been sailing that area and beyond for many years and was a joy to talk to about the islands' history, vegetation, birds, and marine life. We ran into a pretty significant storm on one of our days but kept completely safe and dry inside his 54' monster sailboat. What a blast that day was!! It really was a fantastic charter, and we can't wait to sail with him again. Kenzie was Dave's chef for our trip and she spent the entire trip making beautiful and tasty meals every day...all from scratch. Can't say enough about her chef skills. Like I said, we can't wait to go back and sail with them again.

We had perfect weather while sailing. The cheese and crackers were superb. Must try to find the delicious cheese at home. Dave was so good at telling us the history of every island and his sailing adventures due to currents, winds, etc. Of the three couples on board, one person had never been on a sail boat and was thrilled with the day. Another person who had much sailing experience totally enjoyed the day. He liked helping with pulling some ropes.

Our family had been looking forward to some time on the water during our visit to Orcas Island, and our day sail with Captain Dave was the highlight of the week! The weather was absolutely perfect. We had a great mix of quiet moments gliding across the water, snacking on fresh fruit, cheese, and crackers, and an exhilarating return to Deer Harbor under much stronger winds. Dave’s knowledge of the San Juan Islands was seemingly endless. I’d highly recommend this for anyone looking to create the same kind of lasting memories my family has now. Thank you!

We had a fantastic day cruise around the San Juan Islands aboard the Na"walak, a beautiful and comfortable 54 foot boat. This was the first sailing trip we've been on where we actually sailed, rather than motoring. We really appreciated Captain Dave's sailing expertise and knowledgeability of the the area--its history, geography, flora and fauna. My wife and I had a fantastic day sail with Emerald Isle. Captain Dave was very friendly and knowledgeable, and his deck hand Gabriella was fantastic too. The boat was beautiful and comfortable. We really lucked out with the weather, it was sunny with good winds that allowed us to sail with the motor off almost all day. We saw seals, bald eagles, and picturesque islands. We even got a chance to help with some of the lines and to raise the mainsail, which we were happy to do as we are hoping to do more sailing ourselves. Highly recommended!

We embarked on a 4 hour day sail around the San Juan's during our honeymoon. I chose Emerald Isle because of their reasonable prices and proximity to where we were staying. We also really wanted to go sailing (neither of us had been before) and not on a whale watching charter. We're glad we went with Dave as he is incredibly knowledgeable, passionate about sailing, and willing to teach. He involved us in helping run the boat during our adventure, which was fun. He has a beautiful boat, and he was open to us poking around to see all the sleeping quarters. His favorite sails are actually his multi-day trips. He was telling us all about the trips they take up to the rainforest in Canada and Alaska. We checked out photos online on his website, and wow! Those trips look like phenomenal, once in a lifetime experiences! During our trip, we saw seals, sea lions, porpoises, and exotic varieties of sheep and deer on Spieden Island (former hunting retreat). The weather was beautiful, although a little cold when the boat was moving. He provided blankets and seating pads, and we were welcome to sit anywhere on the boat - inside or outside. He also provided a snack of cheese and crackers, and we brought along sandwiches to eat, too. In the cooler, we had the option of a couple different sparkling waters, which I appreciated over soda. We had a lot of fun and would love to return for a multi day trip one day!

Yes, yes. Yes. We would reccommend this trip. My husband and I spent our 35 anniversary with Captain Dave and Kady as his crew mate. This was a perfect experience and we've already booked a return sailing trip for next year. Dave is extremely knowledgable and provided excellent information as we sailed. He also has eagle eyes and spotted all types of wildlife. He is easy to be with and the trip was a delight. The fact that the boat is a pilot house is a huge bonus because if you get chilly or if iit rains. you can go in side and still have an amazing view from ALL the windows. There are 2 bathrooms. Everything was pleasantly decorated and very, very clean Lots of bedrooms so if you need to rest you have plenty of choics. They graciously served cheese, crackers and fruit. Thank you Dave and Kady for being so wonderful to sail with, we'll see you next April 26th!

My week with Dave Lutz and Jada Nye sailing the San Juan Islands was extraordinary. Complete relaxation coupled with breathtaking views created a perfect experience. Chef Jada produced multiple masterpieces while suiting everyone’s dietary needs simultaneously. The vessel is a dream. Pack light - I ignored that warning. Space is limited but there’s very little you need. The stars of the show were Mother Nature and Captain Dave. Dave’s naturalist knowledge of the land is incomparable. The hikes he led, spoil you for any future hikes. Not to mention his competence as a captain and well, he’s just a good guy. This is the trip of a lifetime...so I’m going to sail with them again next summer. ♥️⛵️

My partner and I sailed on the Nawalak with Dave 11 years ago and just returned this past week. We rarely repeat trips but this one kept pulling us back. While excited we were afraid "it wouldn't be the same". And it wasn't. It was even better. We feel into a comfortable groove with 4 of our friends, Dave and Chef Jada. Over the week visited some places we have been and some new secret coves. Dave was as easy going, funny and knowledgable as we remembered and the food was off the charts. We have already booked our next trip for next summer!!

My wife, 3 boys (aged 10, 8, and 5) and I spent 5 nights in June on the Nawalak sailing the San Juan islands. Dave is very knowledgable about the San Juans and each day we stopped at one or two islands for hiking, wild life viewing, agate / fossil hunting, and time for the kids to burn off energy. We encountered very few people on each island and were often the only visitors. The sailing was great when the wind allowed. Each night we anchored in a cove which Dave chose based on the wind / weather and where we enjoyed kayaking. Dave is very knowledgable about the San Juan wildlife -- we saw seals, otters, sea lions, and transient orcas from the sailboat. The food was phenomenal - Poppy was an unbelievable cook - highlights included seafood paella and pavlova. Overall, a very relaxing and informative trip -- highly recommended.

We had the best time with Captain David on a day sail around the San Juan Islands. He was very patience with us, as our crew can be a little hectic getting started. He took us around to different islands and gave us interesting facts and background of each island. Between islands, we were able to relax on the deck and really enjoy sailing around. It was as much an adventure as it was a relaxing afternoon. It wasn't a particularly windy day but David found enough wind to open her sails. I just returned from a 12 day sailing trip aboard the Nawalath to the Great Bear Rain Forest. Captain Dave and Chef Luci were above and beyond my expectations and better than most 5 star trips. Captain Dave is very knowledgeable of the ecology and marine life and always had an adventure around every cove. From the viewing of the humpbacks, orcas, wolves, dolphins, bears to the environmental issues of British Columbia, we were in awe. Along with this, he demonstrated an amazing ability to sail through rapids, tide changes and strong currents with great agility and calmness. From morning to dusk, there was a new adventure around every bend. Not to mention, the aromas and culinary dishes prepared by Chef Lucita. For twelve days straight, the meals were prepared to compare to any Michelin Star Restaurant. The freshness, variety and presentation were superb, considering we were on a sailing vessel. Along with this, she prepared freshly caught salmon in a variety of ways for any taste palate.Highly recommend for any traveler seeking to navigate the great Northwest in a private, comfortable environment and to view up close all that nature has to offer!

We had the most experience of a lifetime with Emerald Isle , Dave -our Captain and Lucy our amazing Chef!!! Salmon, bears, a lone wolf, field of dolphins, pods of Whales , Kingfishers , hot Springs and so many more beautiful Natural sights were felt by the Senses.Dancing on deck and under waterfalls was amazing and eating by candlelight each night with gourmet food was beyond beyond. We expect to explore this area with Captain Dave -who also became a dear friend as well as a Captain of the Seas!!!

Amazing trip. Dave and Katy planned our trip for the grandchildren (ages 12 and 14) as I requested. The food was fabulous and Dave was so patient with the children. One of my grandsons is a very picky eater but he ate everything placed in front of him. Katy did a great job of preparing comfort food but with her special flair. The most rewarding was receiving thank you notes from my grandsons. Max said, " Thank you for taking me on this unforgettable trip. I know you spent a lot of time putting the trip together. Thank you for giving me these unforgettable memories." Can't beat a thank you note like that.

Captain Dave never disappoints, our request for an instructional trip on sailing was granted and amazing. We learned terms, and were able to fill the sails, gliding through the water of the San Juan Islands. We could be as involved in sailing as we wanted and we absolutely loved every minute. We were sad to have to leave the boat, and hope to be back again to bask in Captain Dave's knowledge and friendship, we have made a friend for life. Chef Katie made us feel at home and kept the fantastic food coming. Brunch on the deck and delightful snacks throughout the day, you rock Katie! We were taken to places we had not seen on our previous trip, awed by the beauty. Captain Dave is sure to provide a trip of a lifetime, we are so fortunate to have had two of them. Emerald Isle Sailing Charters has our seal of approval, so relaxing and educational, we highly recommend sailing on the Na'walak with Captain Dave.

One of the most enjoyable part of our visit to San Juan islands (Orcas). Thank you captain Dave for your trust in letting me and my daughter navigate the sail.

Captain Dave always had something interesting to tell us about local history and culture, the plants and animals on the islands, and sailing in the area. Katy took great care of us with delicious food - from creative dishes to comfort food. The boat is very comfortable ( in our case, 5 people at the table) with good views from inside the pilot house. It's nice to have the option to move inside or out as the weather changes without having to go below deck. We enjoyed conversations and hikes with our fellow passengers. Recommended!

We immediately were at home with Captain Dave and Katie- an awesome team who provided us with awesome knowl edge and food. The boat was the perfect size for the 3 of us and we celebrated my husband and sisters birthday with walks, sails and quiet time observing Nature. One of the evenings when we went ashore for a walk was met with the barking and sightings of the Stellar seals which was quite a treat for us.The sharing time was invaluable and many insights about Nature and myself occurred on the 4 days in this beautiful part of the World!

Although we ended up with probably the worst week of weather this summer in the Northwest, we had good wind for sailing and a really fun time, with great people and great food. We were able to sail everyday. We hiked on Stuart, Sucia and Matia Islands, off the normal paths of most tourist since these islands are not served by public ferries, with Captain Dave as a guide with fascinating descriptions of the island history, the trees and plants and the native peoples of the San Juans. And we ate gourmet meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner prepared by Chef Katie. Everything was made from scratch in the small galley, and it was all amazing. It made coming home to my normal cooking slightly depressing! Even with the "bad" weather (rain and wind), we had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the trip, the staff and the other passengers, John, Sharon and Renate. Thanks guys for a wonderful time and a great experience. I recommend Emerald Isle to anyone interested in sailing, nature and history of the San Juan Islands.

My wife and two teenage daughters spent five days sailing the northern San Juan's with Dave and Katie the first week of August, 2015. Overall, it was an excellent trip and I would recommend it to other families. Dave and Katie are very relaxed, have excellent knowledge of the area and tell interesting stories about the history, flora and fauna. The trip was a mix of excellent food prepared by Katie, including fresh brewed coffee ready to go before we woke up, freshly made muffins and scones and a creative menu of outstanding meals for lunches and dinners as well as exploring the islands, kayaking and sailing. Dave made an effort to tailor the trip to what we wanted to do for the day and was very flexible. He also selected protected coves for anchorage each night for a calm evening. We jumped in each day (water is quite cold) and Katie always went first, a great incentive! I would definitely do this trip again.

We took a day sail with Captain Dave and another family. No wind that day, so we motored the whole time, which was too bad, but still a gorgeous day. Dave had great knowledge of the islands and the wildlife. A highlight was falling asleep on the deck in the sun, gently rocking. Beautiful and well-appointed boat!

I celebrated my 40th birthday aboard Dave' ship. We had an amazing time, as we sailed around various islands. My son and his buddy dressed as pirates, and my friends and I were able to relax and take in the beauty. Dave did an excellent job talking with us about the natural history, the various wildlife that we saw, and the local geography. We were able to BBQ on board, and enjoyed a feast. Dave is very kind, patient, calm, competent- the exact kind of person you want sailing you around the San Juans. This was one of the best days of my life, and I can't wait to sail with Dave again.

Our group (adults and two children, ages 6 and 7 1/2) had a wonderful, amazing day sailing around the San Juan Islands! Dave was great- calm, peaceful, extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife and islands and passages; he was so patient with the kids and involved them in what he was doing (my son got to raise one of the sails). The boat is gorgeous. Our trip was so relaxing. I knew there were many islands but seeing them up from the water, sailing around and in between them all (there are SO many!) was truly special. Gorgeous weather. Couldn't have asked for a better day.

Our group of 5 adults had a great day of peaceful exploration with Capt. Dave---aboard his beautiful 54' sailing yacht; gorgeous islands/water views, incredible Orcas, delicious meal, food and wines (thanks Chef Katy!). The entire day trip was absolute perfection!! If you are seeking the best of the best in the Pacific Northwest, it is definitely Emerald Isle Sailing Charters! Tip...take a seaplane from downtown Seattle into Deer Harbor to board the yacht.... the views along the way are breathtaking!
